MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS S.A is one of the largest industrial Groups in Greece, operating in the sectors of Metallurgy & Mines, Energy, EPC Constructions and the Vehicle Industry.
From 1991 to 1994, through a series of acquisitions and mergers, the activities of all subsidiaries were transferred to the parent Company. In 1995 the Group was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange.
During the past years the Company grew significantly in terms of both turnover and profits, and its business operations had a positive influence on the development of infrastructures in the country. The acquisition of "Aluminium of Greece" in early 2005 laid the foundations for a new era for MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS S.A., as it boosted the Group's already existing significant commercial presence in the metallurgy sector by allowing it to also expand to industrial production.
The Group's establishment in the Energy sector was a major challenge and goal, with efforts in this area culminating in 2007 in the strategic alliance with Spain-based Endesa for the creation of Endesa Hellas. This development placed MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS S.A. among the leading private players in the Energy sector, and ensured its dynamic growth in the future.
The Group's carefully planned business growth in this sector was demonstrated once again during 2008 by the joint venture agreement signed with MOTOR OIL HELLAS S.A. for the joint construction, operation and exploitation of natural gas-fired power plants with an output capacity of more than 800 MW within the MOTOR OIL facilities in Ag. Theodori (Corinth).
