In 2000, MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS S.A. entered dynamically the vehicle industry sector through the acquisition of a 43% stake in the HELLENIC VEHICLE INDUSTRY S.A.
The company's know-how and expertise have allowed it to undertake in 2006 the manufacture in Greece of the ultramodern LEOPARD 2 HEL armoured tank. Local manufacturing takes place primarily at the METKA facilities in Volos and at the HELLENIC VEHICLE INDUSTRIES facilities in Thessaloniki.
The Group aims to further develop the activities of its subsidiaries HELLENIC VEHICLE INDUSTRIES S.A. and METKA S.A. and to improve its position as a manufacturer of armoured wheeled and tracked vehicles in Greece, as well as in the wider region.
