The mission of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Organisation is to provide a framework of Sustainability Reporting principles and guidelines which can be used by all types of organisation, regardless of their size or the sector they belong to. The GRI Sustainability Reporting principles and guidelines function as a generally acceptable reference framework to be used by an organisation in order to measure and report its financial, environmental and social performance. The contents of this specific framework, which, in addition to its general-purpose component, comprises also sector-specific reporting guidelines for major sectors of economic activity, have been agreed by a broad range of Stakeholders from all over the world to ensure reliability and impartiality.
In line with the above, since 2008 we have adopted the GRI Reporting Guidelines in the preparation of our annual Sustainability Reports and have followed the newer issues of the reporting standard, such as GRI-G4. The Group is also a registered GRI Organisational Stakeholder, supporting the organisation’s mission to develop and disseminate jointly agreed Sustainability Reporting principles through participative procedures.
